POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION PROCEDURE (CIVIL SERVICE)

Entry Level and Lateral Level Officers

Entry Level Police Officers

Initial testing for Entry Level Police Officer positions is completed through PublicSafetyTesting.com, (PST) a private testing agency. This includes the physical and entry level written exam for entry candidates.  Upon successful completion of the PST testing process, applicant test scores will be forwarded by PST to the Human Resources Manager/Chief Examiner. Applicants will next be invited to complete the City of Port Townsend Civil Service Commission Employment Application.

Please register for testing  at  www.publicsafetytesting.com

When an opening occurs or at the time the Civil Service Commission recommends an employment list be established, all those who have completed applications on file will be contacted to determine if they are still interested in employment. If so, they will be invited to Port Townsend for further testing, including an oral board panel interview.
